SIMILE explains twins!



Definition:

A word or phrase that compare a subject with another subject, using the words like or as! Using simile to describe the similarities between two subjects.



Example:
  • His skin was as white as the clouds and cold as the snow. She brushed her fingers over his cheeks and pulled back immediately, the chilliness made her shivered and her mind caught with fear. Her face paled and her arms wrapped around her own body, her lips turned purple like grapes' skin.
Why is it important in Language Arts?

Using simile helps the author to compare the subject to a character, describing the feelings, the moods and giving out the information for the reader to visualize the picture in their heads.
